🍳 Our Class Formats

Explore new recipes and techniques under the guidance of our qualified chefs and instructors. All skill levels—from beginners to enthusiasts—are welcome.

  • Baking Classes: Formats vary by class. For single-focus bakes (like Carrot Cake), you will make a whole cake to take home. For varied menus, the group works together, and everyone takes home a selection of the treats.
  • Cooking Classes: Prepare 5+ recipes as a group, then sit down to enjoy the meal family-style.
  • Masterclasses & Cake Decorating: In-depth, 4-hour sessions (typically on Saturday mornings). For decorating classes, you work on your own pre-baked cake or cookie set to take home.
  • Wine Tasting Classes: Taste 4+ interesting South African wines paired with a tailor-made feast. Wines are available to order for post-class delivery.
  • Craft Classes: Periodic sessions featuring a live craft demonstration, a hands-on project to take home, and a light meal.

👥 Private Group Bookings

Any of our classes can be booked privately for birthdays, team building, or book clubs.

  • Group Size: Minimum 6 people, maximum 8 people.
  • Catering & Drinks: Contact us for custom catering quotes, or feel free to bring your own extra drinks, snacks, and cake.

📦 What is Included & What to Bring

  • Included: All premium ingredients, kitchen equipment, standard takeaway boxes, and refreshments (tea, coffee, and water). Baking and decorating classes include tea-time treats or a light lunch.
  • What to Bring: Please bring an apron and a plastic/Tupperware container for extra leftovers. You are also welcome to bring your own alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Age Limits: Teens and tweens are welcome. Small children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Recipes: A PDF copy of all recipes will be sent to you via WhatsApp after the class.

🏡 Venue & Arrival Info

  • Location: Roseville Road, Claremont. Because this is also our private home, the exact house number and a location pin will be sent directly to you upon booking.
  • Parking: Please park mindfully and avoid blocking any neighborhood driveways or gates.
  • Getting Inside: Enter through the main car gate. If it is closed, use the doorbell to the right of the gate. If it is open, walk right on in!
  • Arrival Time: Arrive exactly at the start time (no need to come early). We buffer 15 minutes at the start to settle in, meet others, and wait for latecomers before the introductory demo begins.

📝 Important Policies

  • Dietary Requirements: Note any requirements in the “Notes” section at checkout. We do our best to accommodate, but some classes cannot be altered (e.g., our bread classes cannot be made gluten-free).
  • Photos & Privacy: You are welcome to take photos and videos! Please ask other attendees for permission before capturing their faces. We will never post your face to social media without explicit permission. If you share your photos with Julie, she will forward them to the group.
  • Cancellation Policy: Tickets are strictly non-refundable. Buying a ticket secures your place and prevents others from booking. We do not offer refunds, rescheduling, or store credits. However, if you cannot make it, you are most welcome to send someone else in your place.
